Ruger New Bearcat Single-Action Revolver
January 03, 2002
During its 15-year production run from 1958 to 1973, the original Ruger Bearcat revolver was popular because of its lightweight, compact size and elegant styling. In an early "Dope Bag Report", The American Rifleman magazine summed it up by saying, "The Bearcat is an extremely neat and compact little gun with excellent pointing and handling qualities."
Bearcat production was discontinued in 1973, reintroduced for a short time in 1993, then put back into production in 1996 and has again proven to be a popular choice.
In 2002, Ruger introduced a stainless steel version of the New Bearcat revolver.
FEATURES The Ruger New Bearcat single-action revolver retains the elegant styling of the original Bearcat and incorporates a patented Ruger transfer bar safety system. This patented system can help prevent accidental discharges caused by a drop or blow to the hammer. *
The unfluted cylinder features a roll mark with the caliber and a bear and cougar scene. In adding the New Bearcat to our broad range of single-action revolvers, Ruger extends a single standard of quality - the best obtainable.
