Ruger Executive Robert Stutler Named 2004 Grand National Quail Hunting Champion

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR), the nation's largest firearms manufacturer, is pleased to announce that Robert Stutler, the Company's General Manager and Director of Prescott Operations, has been named this year's Grand National New Shooter Champion after a very challenging two-day hunt in Enid, Oklahoma.

Mr. Stutler oversees all aspects of the Company's operations at its Prescott, Arizona manufacturing and precision investment casting facilities.

The Grand National is one of the leading invitational hunting events in the country. Founded in 1967, and consisting of approximately 400 shooters, the Governor of Oklahoma personally invites 25 new shooters each year to participate in the Grand National Quail Hunt. All shooters past and present are celebrities or leaders in their community, business or chosen profession.

Company President Stephen L. Sanetti commented, "We are very proud of Bob's most recent accomplishments at the Grand National Quail Hunting Championships. Bob Stutler sets a high standard in our Prescott plant and he maintains an equally high standard when it comes to competitive shooting. Mr. Stutler has served in a variety of management positions with Sturm, Ruger for the past 18 years. He is a retired U.S. Marine Corps officer, with twenty-five years of active service, which included tours of duty ranging from Vietnam to the White House.
