Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) is pleased to announce the introduction of the new Ruger 22/45 Mark III Hunter.
The Ruger 22/45 Mark III Hunter, chambered for .22 LR, features a stainless steel 6 7/8-inch target-crowned, fluted bull barrel with a HiViz® fiber-optic front sight and micro-adjustable V-notch rear sight. Those who wish to mount optics on the new 22/45 Hunter will find the task easy, as all adjustable sight Mark III pistols are drilled and tapped for a Weaver-style scope adapter, included at no extra charge.
In 2004, Sturm, Ruger introduced the totally redesigned Ruger 22/45 Mark III pistol, which retains the grip angle and feel of the classic 1911 pistol, and virtually identical magazine button, manual safety, and bolt stop locations. It also comes with all the now-standard Ruger Mark III .22 caliber pistol features.
The New Ruger 22/45 Mark III's slim polymer grip frame features checkered grip panel areas, a serrated front strap, and a checkered back strap. Sturm, Ruger also engineered the very first visible loaded chamber indicator for a .22 rimfire pistol, as well as an unobtrusive internal lock and a magazine disconnect. The ejection port on all Mark III pistols has been re-contoured and the bolt ears are tapered to improve both functionality and appearance.
The new 34-ounce 22/45 Mark III Hunter comes in a Hunter-green case with a Weaver-style scope base adapter, six interchangeable LitePipesTM for the HiViz® fiber-optic front sight, and a gun lock. The fluted barrel gives match target rigidity without the weight.
With its checkered polymer frame, fluted bull barrel, and high-visibility sights, the Ruger 22/45 Mark III Hunter provides rimfire hunters and plinkers with a lighter, longer sight radius pistol for enhanced performance in the field. It is also the perfect .22 caliber understudy for 1911 shooters.
