Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) is pleased to announce that Team Ruger member Dave Olhasso walked away with three divisional wins at the 2020 Long Island Steel Shootout held at the Long Island Practical Shooting Association in Westhampton Beach, NY. The match consisted of six stages with 25 to 30 pieces of knockdown steel targets that required each competitor to bring the best of their speed and accuracy.
Olhasso took on the long weekend of competition by signing up to shoot multiple divisions with a variety of Ruger firearms. Dave took top honors in the Open Auto division with a final time of 105.93 shooting the Ruger Custom Shop® SR1911® Competition chambered in 9mm Luger. He followed that up by winning the Open Revolver division with a time of 145.34 competing with the Ruger Custom Shop Super GP100® Competition 9mm Luger. Finally, he rounded out the match with a Stock Auto divisional win with final time of 119.70 running his Ruger Custom Shop SR1911 Competition chambered in .45 Auto.
"This was a great opportunity to shoot a knockdown steel match with three fantastic Ruger guns," said Olhasso. "It was terribly hot and sandy on the range, but all of my guns ran perfectly, giving me the ability to take three division wins."
