Ruger Takes Home Multiple Awards from the NASGW Expo

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) is proud to have been recognized by the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers (NASGW) as Firearm Manufacturer of the Year. Ruger also earned awards for its newly re-introduced Marlin® Model 336™ Classic, which was awarded both Best New Overall Product and Best New Rifle.

The annual NASGW Expo and Annual Meeting provides educational, marketing and communications opportunities for hunting and shooting sports wholesalers, manufacturers and sales professionals. The NASGW also uses this event to recognize manufacturers for their accomplishments from the previous year. This year, NASGW members met on October 24 in Columbus, Ohio at the Annual Awards Dinner and Reception for the presentation of awards. Accepting these prestigious awards on behalf of Ruger was President and CEO, Chris Killoy.

The Firearms Manufacturer of the Year recipient is determined by NASGW members who evaluate the performance of manufacturers on four key criteria: distribution policy; marketing, promotions and sales; logistics and operations; and NASGW and industry support. This assessment of manufacturer performance is designed to provide a balanced appraisal that recognizes the best manufacturer in its category according to NASGW members.

The Annual NASGW-POMA Caliber Awards honor the highest caliber new products in seven product categories. The winners for each category are chosen by an independent panel of 18 industry professionals. The Caliber Awards offer a unique, unbiased approach to recognizing and honoring new innovative products. The voting panel is comprised of the people who buy and sell these products on a daily basis as well as the media members who review and report on these products in the field. Judges were asked to consider the uniqueness, market need, the value of the product, the ingenuity and presentation.
